About
I am currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor in the US system) at the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. Previously, I served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik under the mentorship of Prof. Karol Myszkowski. I also had the privilege of being a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge, where I collaborated with Prof. Rafał Mantiuk. I completed my Ph.D. at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, where I was co-advised by Prof. Miu-Ling Lam and Prof. Hongbo Fu.
My research interests include, but not limited to: Computational Display, investigating glass-free 3D display, virtual reality, and augmented reality from hardware aspect (optics) to software aspects (rendering); Perception, exploring the perceptional principles for display systems from Computer Graphics perspective; Computational Imaging, exploring AI-driven imaging techniques for scene representation, depth-of-field synthesis and manipulation, and HDR imaging.
